Inside our award-winning Farmhouse apartments
Under the spotlight this month are the Farmhouse apartments at Whitbarrow. These stunning properties are part of our David Lloyd’s Iconic Collection and, last year, they even scooped a Cumbria Tourism Award.
Read on to find out more about these properties and discover why they are such deserving winners of this coveted award.
Striking architecture
The building dates back to the late 1800s and was part of the original farm. It was transformed into two luxury apartments in early 2016 following a £170k refurbishment, however charming original features, such as high ceilings and the building’s striking exterior, still remain.
Stunning interiors
The drama of the surrounding landscape is channelled into the fabulous, brightly coloured décor. You’ll find patterned wallpaper, accent furniture, and artwork by local artists, as well as soothing, neutral tones and plenty of natural wood. The apartments are also remarkably spacious, meaning there’s plenty of room for growing families or large groups.
Luxurious finishing touches
The apartment’s modern furnishings, such as freestanding bathtubs, enormous rainfall showers, and private outdoor hot tubs, really captured the attention of the Cumbria Tourism Award judges. It’s these extra special touches that really help to transform these properties into truly luxurious Lakeland retreats.
Unbeatable location
The apartments are nestled in the very heart of Whitbarrow, surrounded by quaint cobbled streets and beautiful parkland. What’s more, you’ll be treated to stunning views of the nearby fells, which can be reached in a matter of minutes by car. Many of the Lake District’s finest towns, lakes, and attractions are also right on your doorstep.
