Keswick Brewing Company
First exhibited at festivals in 2006, the brewery’s signature, and most popular, ale is called Thirst Run following a misunderstanding with a graphic designer. This mistake led to a very successful marketing campaign, leading to the creation of the brewery’s ‘Thirst’ range. This tour will take you through the brewery’s journey and processes, including how they use sheep’s wool during the process and you’ll get to sample different products before spending a bit of time in the Fox Tap bar. One of the reasons why we love this brewery is because of their disabled accessibility, and tours are only £10 per person.

Hawkshead Brewery
This no-nonsense craft brewery in Staveley hosts tours at 1pm every day and is perfect for families. At the end of your tour, you’ll be treated to a pint of beer from Hakwshead’s wide range of brews, or a soft drink if you’re under 18. If you’re planning on taking a bigger group, give the brewery a call to see if they can host an exclusive, private tour of the brewery. Adult tickets cost £10, 10 to 17-year-olds pay £6 and anyone under 10 gets in for free.

Jennings Brewery
This Cockermouth-based brewery has almost 200 years of history and offers three free half pints of any of their beers in the Cooperage bar after the tour. You’ll even get a 10% discount off all purchases made in their shop and a sample of their exclusive port. If you’re celebrating a special occasion, why not book a private tour? For groups of 18 people and more, the brewery offers private tours for just £15 per person, with a meal included for £3.50 extra.
If you’re planning on exploring the Lake District this summer, book a stay with us and make us your home from home. We’re perfectly placed for you to venture out around the Lakes, or you could simply laze the days away in your very own hot tub.
