Land O’ Burns Weekender | Friday 25th – Saturday 26th May
The Land O’ Burns Weekender is part of the annual Burnsfringe festival – a month-long celebration showcasing some of the region’s Best Burns landmarks. The action-packed Land O’ Burns Weekender kicks off on Friday 25th May at Ayr Rugby Club with an evening of live music. The following day, you can expect a thrilling beach rugby tournament and more live music performances. Plus, there will be a selection of stalls serving freshly made food in addition to Prosecco, real ales, craft beers, and local Scottish ciders as part of the Land O’ Burns Beer Festival.
Mauchline Holy Fair | Saturday 26th May
Mauchline is the former home of Robert Burns and the location of the Burns House Museum. Part of the Burnsfringe festival, Mauchline Holy Fair celebrates the history of the village, and you can expect live music, over 70 stalls, vintage tractor and classic car displays, and lots of family-friendly entertainment. Visitors can also gain full access to the Burns Museum and Nanse Tinnock Museum, and even enjoy a horse and carriage ride to the historic Mauchline Burns Monument.
GPS Treasure Hunt at Culzean Castle & Country Park | Saturday 26th – Sunday 27th May
This May, Culzean Castle & Country Park is celebrating Scottish myths, legends, and fairy tales by hosting a magical GPS treasure hunt. After downloading the ‘Go Team’ app to your tablet or smartphone, you and your family can embark on an exciting adventure around the park as you navigate to specific checkpoints using an interactive map. There will be plenty of unique challenges to get stuck into such as themed questions and photo and video missions.
Whisky Tasting for National Whisky Month | Sunday 27th – Monday 28th May

Steam Day at the Scottish Industrial Railway Centre | Sunday 27th – Monday 28th May
The Scottish Industrial Railway Centre celebrates Ayrshire’s rich industrial railway heritage and is home to exciting live exhibits and a steam model railway. The centre is only open to the public on special Steam Days, when visitors can see the steam and diesel locomotives working in an authentic setting and take a ride on a short section of the Dalmellington Iron Company’s main railway line. The centre is hosting two of these family-friendly Steam Days during the bank holiday weekend, so it’s well worth heading down if you want to find out more about Ayrshire Railway’s fascinating past.
