Top 5 Christmas markets in Cornwall
Let’s face it, there’s nowhere better to soak up some Christmas spirit and tackle your growing gift list than a Christmas market. And Cornwall happens to have plenty.
With this in mind, here’s a round-up of our favourite festive gatherings taking place up and down the county this season.
Fowey Christmas Market
6th, 7th and 8th December
For one weekend in December, the picturesque seaside town of Fowey is transformed into a bustling winter wonderland. The town sees an estimated 10,000 visitors at their annual Christmas market with shoppers seeking everything from local arts and crafts to the finest Cornish fare. Plus, there’s plenty of marvellous pubs, coffee shops and restaurants to try too.
The Lost Gardens of Heligan Christmas Fair
7th – 8th December
The enchanting Lost Gardens of Heligan will host their annual Christmas Fair on the weekend of 7th – 8th December. Expect live music, fresh churros and crêpes, and a fantastic selection of unique Christmas gifts from over 100 local artists and producers.
Healeys Christmas Market
Every weekend from 24th November – 16th December
Healeys Cyder Farm plays host to a magical Christmas market on selected weekends throughout November and December. You’ll find homemade gifts, festive food, and (of course) plenty of mulled Cornish cider. Plus, there’s tractor rides and farm animal feeding times for the little ones, carol singing, and even freshly cut Christmas trees for sale.
Padstow Christmas Festival
5th – 8th December
From 5th – 8th December, the quaint harbour town of Padstow hosts its annual Christmas Festival. The streets are lined with stalls selling arts, crafts, and artisan food and drink, and there are also cooking demonstrations from highly acclaimed chefs including the town’s most famous resident, Rick Stein. Plus, there’s a Santa Fun Run and The Big Cornish Breakfast which features a hearty selection of dishes made by some of the country’s top chefs using locally sourced produce.
Made in Cornwall Christmas Fair
27th November – 1st December
The ever-popular Made in Cornwall Christmas Fair will be held on the last weekend of November at Truro’s Lemon Quay. Perfect for those looking to give the gift of Cornwall this Christmas, the fair will feature handcrafted candles, artwork, clothing, and much more. Plus, you’ll find plenty of festive treats to tuck into, from chocolates and preserves to cheeses.
