What’s on at the Eden Project this February
February is a fabulous time of year to visit Cornwall. Not only are the days growing longer, but many of the county’s top attractions have fewer crowds than during the summer months. One of our favourite places to visit is undoubtedly the Eden Project, not only because it provides a great day out whatever the weather, but because there are always exciting events taking place.
So whether you already have plans to visit Cornwall with the little ones this February half term, or are still mulling over the prospect of a last minute break, here is a round up of what’s taking place at the Eden Project this February.
Ice skating | Until 23rd February
We know that Christmas is well and truly behind us, but you can still make the most of the attraction’s indoor ice rink until 23rd February. The perfect rainy day activity, it’s ideal for children of all ages. There are even snowmen and penguin skating aids for those who are a little unsteady on the ice.
Colour Uncovered | 15th – 23rd February
Throughout February half term, The Eden Project will be running a series of workshops with artists, cartoonists, and animators as part of Colour Uncovered. You can embark on a colour trail around the biomes, take part in a giant collaborative art installation, and discover more about the clever ways that plants use colour.
Radical Botany | 15th February – 17th May
Radical Botany, the attraction’s latest exhibition, is kicking off on 15th February. The exhibition will bring together contemporary artworks and botanical paintings, and explore the role of an artist in collecting and recording species of plants and flowers. Expect beautiful drawings and photography as well as powerful discussions around biodiversity and extinction.
World Pasty Championships | 29th February
Yes that’s right, at the end of the month the Eden Project will play host to the World Pasty Championships. Celebrating all things great about this much-loved Cornish delicacy, the event will see bakers battle it out for the top spot. It promises to be heaps of fun with live music from several local bands and artists.
When you book your stay at Clowance or Burn, you’ll also be able to purchase your tickets to the Eden Project at the same time for a discounted rate of £25 for adults and £12.60 for children.
