Cornwall or Carmarthenshire?
With seaside resorts in both Cornwall and South Wales, you might be struggling to decide where you’re going to stay for your next break. So, we’ve put together a few of our favourite things about each of our seaside resorts’ locations to give you a helping hand when booking.
Dylan Coastal Resort, Carmarthenshire
Our beautiful resort on the south coast of Wales is the newest addition to our collection, and we’ve fallen in love with it. As well as being right on the coast, our lodges in Laugharne are the perfect base to venture out and explore South Wales from. As well as exciting activities to entertain the family, you’ll find ancient castles, historic rivers and picture-perfect gardens to wander round if you fancy a change of pace.
Our favourite things to do:
This fascinating museum tells the story of land speed record attempts at Pendine Sands, and even houses Babs, J. G. Parry-Thomas’ land speed record car. Just 5 miles from the resort, this attraction is easily accessible to our guests.
National Botanic Garden of Wales
Set in the beautiful Carmarthenshire countryside, the gardens feature the world’s largest single-span glasshouse and a tropical butterfly house. Located just a short drive from the resort, the gardens are perfect for budding photographers.
Get up close to a variety of animals, including rhinos, apes, tigers and lemurs, or spend a day as a keeper with one of the animal experiences!
Burn Coastal Retreat, Bude
Our other coastal resort is located in Bude, North Cornwall, but there’s far more to the area than its stunning coastline. Aside from the endless stretches of gold, sandy beach, North Cornwall is home to picture-perfect seaside towns and quirky villages, perfect for afternoon adventures or romantic strolls. Beneath these idyllic, postcard towns lies a fascinating history with smugglers abound, but nowadays the region is a haven for surfers. With a number of major attractions just a car journey away, Burn Coastal Retreat is the perfect place to stay for your next family holiday or romantic retreat.
The best places to go:
Something for all ages, in all weathers, including rides, rollercoasters, a bird of prey display, ‘Nerd Alert’ fun science show. Be sure to check out the new ‘Thrills & Spills’ show from Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist Merlin featuring magic, fire tricks and comedy.
Where history meets legend! Explore King Arthur’s birthplace, enjoy fascinating exhibitions then climb the 148 steps and cross the bridge to the island – the views are stunning! Make sure you visit the rockpools and secluded beach below the castle.
Explore the largest indoor rainforest in the world and enjoy special events such as ‘Eden Escape: Alien Rescue’ (solve clues to rescue an alien within a specific time limit), botanical art classes, Eden Marathon and even the ‘World Pasty Championships’.
Clowance, Praze-an-Beeble
If you’re looking for a base in a central location for your trip to Cornwall, our Clowance resort has you covered. Located just outside of Camborne, during your stay you’ll be perfectly placed to explore west Cornwall and immerse yourself in its past. Discover a region with a rich history of mining, or travel further back in time and visit the important archaeological sites that are dotted across this stunning part of the world. You’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to planning days out.
Things you have to see:
