Things to do in the Lake District

discover the best of the Lakes

Explore the beautiful lakes and spectacular mountains that inspired Wordsworth, Beatrix Potter, Turner and Ruskin. With 1,800 miles of footpaths, you can cycle, ride or walk to your heart’s content. But you don’t need to stay on land - take to the lakes on a gentle steamer cruise, try your hand at water skiing, or head to the coast for a stroll along one of the beautiful sandy beaches. For something completely different, spend the day in one of the Lakeland towns for fabulous galleries, museums or just great shopping.
